Even though i worked for only 7 months on the company, i'm really grateful for the opportunity that i had, it was my first job on the game industry beside my indie developer experience. From multiplayer games using Photon PUN and Playfab to mini-games that was played on "Big Brother Brasil" TV show, i had the opportunity to learn how to ship games for different clients at the same time. I also worked on casino games, i've made the backend (API), Frontend (website) and game client (Unity) and that experience showned me a huge market that exists on casinos.
It was a great experience in my career because i learned to work with bigger teams, several products at the same time and travel for work to meet clients that use our systems and API's. The company was focused on finance management systems, so every developer had to be really careful with code changes as that can have big impact on people's money, and even a small calculation error can be a disaster. I can highlight my contribuitions on two projects that i worked, one being the "Auto Contratação de Crédito", a "self checkout" loan system and "Debêntures" platform. Both systems i coded almost from scratch using PHP / MariaDB with the backend being a API and the application using OOP and MVC
Although i was hired as full stack web developer, what i did the most was front-end. We had a franchise manager system made with PHP / MySQL.The clients would sent a design file and i would slice the layout / template and recreate it with HTML / CSS. When i joined the company they was still using HTML tables to create the layout. Needless to say that the layouts was not responsive and the overall experience was not that great. As the person responsible for that role, i pitched to the team that we should use a CSS framework to make our life easier, and in the end i decided to use Bootstrap 3. I'm pretty confident that this was my biggest contribution for the product and the developers that worked on it after me.
After a couple of years making websites by myself, i reached a limit and could not prospect new leads and clients. An old friend who was really good at selling things partnered up with me, and we founded a web development agency. He also helped me with design and create wireframes, so i could focus on making the best code as possible
I got my first PC in 2005 and 3 years later, after many hours studying HTML, CSS and JS i started to make simple websites for local business. I did everything, design, coding, deployment. It was a good experience, at that time i was also studying Flash and Action Script, it was a thing back then. Funny how technologies come and go.
